Sports Vision

Before you head out on the field or the track, make sure you have the best sports vision treatment to help enhance your vision during your game. At Advanced Optical, our office in Orlando has a staff that is dedicated to helping athletes get high-quality eye care from our experienced optometrist, Dr. Anderson. Let’s take a look at sports vision and how we can help when you need clear vision.

Why Do You Need Sports Vision Treatment?

Regular eye exams are a great tool for everyday vision issues. However, if you are a competitive athlete, it is even more important to get a sports vision exam to help you find and correct any visual issues that prevent you from performing at your best. Some of the sports vision exams our optometrist uses are:

Snellen eye chart: This classic eye exam tests your distance vision to determine if you are nearsighted or farsighted. If you are, finding the correct eyeglasses or contacts can help you see better during sports.

Contrast sensitivity: This test is used to determine if you can distinguish the differences in shades and patterns. Having good contrast sensitivity allows you to distinguish figures that aren't well-outlined and track objects.

Ocular alignment tests: These types of tests, such as dominance tests, help determine if your eyes are working in conjunction or compensating if one is weaker than the other.

Sports Vision Treatment Options

After you have been given a sports vision exam, Dr. Anderson will determine if you need eyeglasses, contact lenses, or another method of vision correction. This will help you achieve your best vision and see clearly while playing sports.
